I started this business in March 1998. I am also the owner of Syarikat K.S.
Trading. K.S. Trading was established in 1978. Until September 1996, we
were at 4542, Jalan Kampong Gajah, Butterworth. The shop was gutted by fire
in September 1996. I hold a Diploma in Applied Chemistry from the School
of Mines and Industries, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. I was at Ballarat
from 1960 to 1963. After graduation, I joined Monsanto Chemicals, Footscray.
In 1965, I was at Layang-Layang Johore at Chemara Research Station for about
3 months.
I left to join Chemical Company of Malaysia in 1965, I was in U.K. for 6
months for traininig at I.C.I. fertilisers, Bristol and Billingham. I remained
with C.C.M. until March 1971. Later in June 1971, I joined India Malaysia
Textiles, Butterworth.
I left in 1978 to start my own business and since I have been in business.
At first, I was dealing with Indian products and then carpets.
The switch to Pharmacy was natural as two of my daughters are pharmacists.
The first pharmacy "Nutricare Phamarcy" was set up towards the
end of 1995. We decided to establish the 2nd pharmacy as my last daughter,
Bharati, was graduating in 1997. |
